It's just another Manic Monday

The computer can make up for a photographer's lack of talent.

As can an expensive lens.

If you can even consider standing and pushing a button on a gadget to be a "talent"
I mean there a people that are better than me at taking pictures and have more creative talent to create better photos. I just don't value that at $2k+

does the $2k include the final album as well as the work they are doing that day?

having helped my dad do a wedding when I was younger (helping load film into the camera, moving lights around, etc) it isn't an easy task to do while trying to be as inconspicuous as possible.

but I have also been to weddings where the photographer is basically dictating "ok, we need to do this part of the wedding now" because no one else was taking charge.

Yep. I got a pretty cool leather wine bag that holds two bottles that good if I'm going to dinner at someone's house or I want to take wine to a restaurant.

I also got a swiss army knife that I use and a leather cigar holder that I used until I quit smoking.
Mr. Kobe got a toiletries bag from a wedding nearly 15 years ago that he still uses. The couple isn't even married anymore. I always get a chuckle when we go somewhere with his friend and new wife and he uses the gift from dude's first wedding.

outside of my sister and cousin, no wedding I have attended has ended in divorce.

I do use the weird hammer/hatchet multitool from my sister's wedding a good amount though.

It would be our wedding gift. They said that they were gifted a photographer for their wedding and it was something they were really thankful for. I guess paying it forward or some shit.
Wouldn't that be paying it backward?

Hell of a wedding gift. I don't think I've ever given a gift more than $150.

I've been to at least 4.

It's why I hand the bride and groom my business card in the greeting line.

I'm not arguing a "pro-photographer" stance or anything because I refuse to pay a lot for photos, but by this logic we all are essentially having computers "do our work". That's a pretty weird hill to die on.
if we're being honest, it's not that hard to take a picture. hell, ill's dad and lifer did it for a living.

RIP 'lifer.

I think only one wedding I have been to has ended in divorce. One other was close to it

your sister and cousin split up? that must make family gatherings awkward.
