Anyone remember the old TG&Y stores

:rip: KMart and Blue-Light Specials.
The K Mart in Oshkosh went out of business about 15 years ago. I took the wife there on one of their final clearance sales and bought a new comforter for our bed at 75% off. That comforter is still on our bed and still in great condition (minus all the stains).

Anybody remember Hill's?

when you first walked in, there was a popcorn stand where you'd get yourself a bag of freshly popped/salted/buttered popcorn that you could snack on as you shopped. And as a kid, outside of Toys 'R Us, Hills was THEEE place for toys, especially during the Holidays:

Loved that damn store.

Used to push a 3 h.p. Briggs & Stratton powered lawn mower with 47 cents worth of gas in an old gallon milk jug with a broken branch as the stopper...a Molotov cocktail more or less...and went around the neighborhood cutting lawns for $3.00 to $5.00.

Take my money to TG&Y and buy car and truck models and model glue, paint and other supplies needed to make the model.

Was a good week when I had made enough to get two models!

This explains so much

Also, don't remember this place but it did remind me of TCBY yogurt stores which I guess are still around but I haven't seen one forever.

Now I want some frozen yogurt

Costco is popular in this area.
