i didn't even know this was a thing until my parents called me yesterday asking about the gas situation down here. they best be able to continue on their journey to myrtle beach or wherever the fuck they're going after their one day pitstop here.We are getting a state of emergency over the gas down here. It’s simple....there wasn’t any solid gas crisis by the pipeline being down up to a week. But, the fear of a gas shortage have made the sheep scurry (I’ve seen pics of a trunk full of plastic bags loaded with gas) to hoard the gas, and that creates at least a temporary shortage. People are morons.
At least our states emergency order isn’t suspending the gas tax like they did in GA. If you’re trying to quell and illogical run on a commodity how does making it cheaper in the short term help that? I don’t understand that.
So, now we have a situation that’s not really creating a shortage turning into a shortage out of fear of their being a shortage.
