Mid-May Monday Thread

they do when you remember to apply a fresh coating of cement glue on them prior to each use. really helps to prevent damage and extend their life.
or if the concrete is not yet dry...

Well, since I don't really intend to do much running on cement or dirt in these shoes, I really hope their extra traction will allow me to walk around normally without sticking to the ground.

Trail-running shoes have bigger lugs for better grip while going over rocks, roots and uneven trail. The size and pattern of the lugs vary based on the type of terrain the shoes are designed for, so it’s best to match your shoes to the surface you’ll be running on. Also, the rubber is typically softer than what’s on road shoes so that it can grab and bend around obstacles in the trail for good grip. Because of the softer rubber, wearing trail-running shoes on the road, where they will regularly pound and rub on hard pavement, can wear the soles out more quickly than if you stick to the softer surface of a trail.

The trail shoes are not really suited to road running, and although their bounciness absorbs a good deal of the impact from pounding on concrete, the soft rubber lugs on the sole will wear out much more quickly than your average pair of road runners.

Like I said, it's just potato stuff.

I can wear my winter boots are year long too if I wanted to...

Lyft/Uber was kind of disappointing over the weekend. Minimum waits of 20 minutes inside fairly large cities (Cincinnati and Louisville) aren't cool. I could see it if there was some huge event, but no... Just Friday and Saturday nights.

I listened to a podcast the other day that basically said we need to stop pretending being a taxi service is Uber's #1.

they are a food delivery company now

morning all

Nice weekend, saturday my dad came over, I grilled out flank steak stuffed with goat cheese, spinach, and roasted red peppers.

Sunday went to auto show, it was at state fair grounds instead of convention center, it was different. I know a few brands didn't show up, but I think we missed a section of cars, but no big deal, the only car I wanted to see I didn't was new Acura TLX.

Sat in VW Golf GTI as it's one cars I'm considering. I liked it. Mrs Pnk would hate how low it sits and seat bolstering, but it's not car she'd drive me. I do worry I'd get tired of it as well

I'd agree that there is also some correlation with that

Lyft is more dependable now for rides

Oh, if you're talking about the hardness difference of the rubbers, then ok. I'm not familiar with the shore ratings of pavement runners and trail shoes.

I assumed you were talking about the tread design gripping concrete more.

I would make that call quite yet. Plenty of business had to adjust their methods for COVID. With some normalcy starting to return, it's very possible if not probable that they'll turn back what they were doing pre-COVID.
