Yes that's BULLSHIT! No one should be able to prevent you from moving out of your current position, lateral or not

Meh. It’s sucks for ill, but a company has every right to keep someone exactly where they are in the company, especially when it’s because they need him there.

Both of them were disappointed but they couldn't match the one yesterday so it is what it is.

that seems to be the general response to something like this. While it is annoying, I am not totally put off by it. It does suck that I was looking forward to a new challenge and actually going after something I wanted for once though. Most of my internal moves have been because the company was restructuring and I was needed elsewhere...so I am a little bummed about that

not sure really...I think we are all just tired of getting beat up by regulators...we seem to be a big target for them.

learned another guy in my group is getting blocked to go to Operations as well.

my company currently has 700 job postings in nuclear, which is insane.

I'm still kind of in the midst as well. Just got offered another gig just now. About 10k a year more. Nothing crazy but it bonuses monthly rather than quarterly so that's nice. And it will be a much easier job.

But I've got my eye on running the weed dispenserary lol. I actually did a first for them last week. They actually pay pretty well also. Not many industries growing like drug dealing
