You know, a song that is loved by most of the population, is considered an all time standard, but in reality just sucks?

I’ve got this turd:



It’s so fake deep, pseudo-intellectual and considering the artist, hypocritical. Worst thing my ears have ever heard.

The first song that popped in my head was "Achy Breaky Heart".

No true country fan likes that song. It’s a song that’s easy to line dance to, that’s about it.

Honestly, Country Music is huge around here, and while my definition of Country is different than most, I hear a lot of shit I don’t like, but I haven’t heard Achy Breaky Heart in years. Hear a lot of Garth Brooks shit that needs to die in a fire, but really, the only Billy Ray Cyrus song you ever hear is that All Gave Some song on Memorial Day

When I was in Monroe, NC last month, "Achy Breaky Heart" and "Friends in Low Places" were played back-to-back at The Smoke Pit. Gahd daam I wanted to put a fucking shotgun shell through my eardrums!

A few months ago, I started a verbal log with my wife of "Songs that should be permanently archived" - i.e. never played again due to gross overuse.

That one would make the list. If you wanna inject Nirvana, please pick a different fucking song!

When we were walking into AmFam Field (aka Miller Park) a couple weeks ago, I heard "Summer of 69" on someone's tailgating radio and added it to the list. I also added "Staying Alive" during the game - which would be way up near the top of the list for me, but she disagreed with me because she thinks it's "fun"... ...nah, it's played. the. fuck. out!
