The sense I got amongst FSU fans right after the hire was "I'm proud to have Mike Norvell leading our young men."

The sense I got amongst FSU fans before the first game was "I'm reserving judgement."

The sense I get amongst FSU fans today is "Mike Norvell" can get fucked.

Georgia Tech won 3 games last season. Georgia Tech is just a year removed from running a triple option and is transitioning into a pro style attack.

Florida state can bitch about their O-Line, but GT's offense whipped them too. 2 blocked FGs, a blocked extra point and a true freshman QB throwing 2 bad picks in FSU territory are the only reason the score was even close. GT shot themselves in the foot every step of the way and still won in Tallahassee.

Didn't the FSU players revolt couple months ago due to their racist ass coach? I bet they don't care. Look for FSU to lose 8 this year.

FSU's recruiting class is meh by FSU's standards

it's only one game, but i'd still be nervous if i were a Nole fan. bringing in top tier recruiting classes is the difference between being a genuine title contender + a good program

They are going through what Texas went through.. National Champion coach trending down who leaves. Hire a good up and coming coach that will clean up the program/image... they fail, on to the next one, they fail/to be determined..

Bad thing is Fisher really screwed up OL recruiting, Taggart didn't fix it.. Norvell is now stuck with it. Mack did the same thing to Charlie after the 2014 season, the roster was BAD. Charlie had to start a whole bunch of true freshmen who weren't ready but the best they could put on the field. It's still a work in progress but this OL is probably the best in the last decade.. and it's slightly above avg..slightly.

Good luck Noles, it sucks, but gotta stick it out with Norvell.

BTW Jimbo is having that same ugly OL situation brewing in CS.. you can now add his RB recruiting to the list as well.

Jimbo had high classes too, but if you look at how those players turned out (specifically the OL) they didn't live up to the ratings. Jimbo for whatever reasons has bad evals along the OL.. That trend has continued in CS.

Definitely will take time to fix things at FSU. Kind of reminds me of some of Tennessee's issues.

I’m pissed that we don’t get to play them this year. They were supposed to come to Boise

Jumbo had a terrible OL coach in Tricket and wouldn’t move away from him. I ran into him right before his second year and told him Tricket was going to be a problem and that all the high school coaches in AL hated him. He brushed it off and it fucked him. Of course I’m a nobody and I wouldn’t listen to me either if I was him, but I still said it.

yup, Trickett sucked

His final DC @ FSU, Charles Kelly, also sucked. Comical that he didn't take those guys with him to A&M. i wonder why

My understanding is he kept them because they were cheap and he couldn’t get more money out of the AD to retain assistants. He had a bunch of them leave to SEC schools and make bank in the process. At the end of the day money talks.

I'm beginning to think he is the reason why his OL coaches suck tbh.. he's recruiting human shaped cubes at aggy too.. Wait till you see them in a couple weeks.. Poor Mond.. He will be running for his life on the field and outside that stadium

bro that's the biggest myth and an excuse Jimbo fans like KKL say. FSU kept paying him more and more whenever he would throw a tantrum. They already agreed for all the upgrades.. He wanted out because everyone had a piece of his candy, but wanted to make it seem that the admin didn't support him good enough.. now he has that with aggy and it's still the same results

This is exactly the way I’m seeing it. Not only has the recruiting classes been lacking for years there was already an underachieving class or two in place (OL is the big example). Flame outs at QB was a big one too.

I’m not sweating this game too much. It’s the privileged nature of Noles fans to think that everything starts on the up and up yesterday. I had no such illusions.

When we moved from Bowden to Fisher recruiting didn’t lose too much of a beat, and Fisher just needed to get his legs under him. He did and they soared again.

Now it is much more of a mess. I can’t throw in the towel on Norvell anytime soon. The number one thing that needs to be done is recruiting and he needs to get a few chances at that. Taggert might have been a mistake, Norvell might be now. But a revolving door doesn’t help anything get fixed faster in this sport.

He’s proven just what a mother fucker he is. I hated the way he left FSU, but felt pretty confident he would play the same games at the next place.

I just telling you he had quite a few high profile assistants bail and several of them are back with him at aTm. There is at least something to it. People were leaving before it went to shit and part of the problem was he couldn’t replace them.

I saw this Jimbo is one of the top QB coaches in the country. He just couldn’t keep the best ones healthy other than Winston.
