Ohio State is a great program But Oklahoma doesn't have any desire to be telling recruits "Hey come play for us and you'll get to freeze your ballz off playing a crappy school somewhere up north on the road in November". OU would rather tell someone "Hey come play for us and you'll be going up against the best teams in the country down on the Gulf Coast where the weather is decent even in November".

While this is has some merit, hasn't OU been playing in "freeze your ballz off" weather since their inception?

Colorado, Kansas, Missouri, and Iowa aren't exactly warm winter climates.

Since Nebraska joined, I always thought OU to the B1G would be a fun idea. Rekindle the rivalry with Nebraska. Geographically, adding Texas always seemed like a stretch but in a package deal with OU it makes more sense.

Either way, the B12 has been destined to fail ever since the first teams began to leave.

I had this thought as well, especially because this started from Texas' camp.
I still think it started from the Big12 camp for negotiating reasons on TV deals.

I am operating on the premise that neither conferences nor teams want to be publicly left at the alter, so to speak.
For conferences like the B1G and SEC, there isn't much fear of being left at the altar. The line to join them forms to the left.

It would look just as bad on the SEC were they to negotiate and Texas walk away as it would if Texas were denied entry after it being public. BTW, what I am saying happened with Mizzou, TAMU, SC, and Arkansas ... it is the way business interests are covered by all parties.

It's all about TV. Texas and OU are pissed at the TV deal, and watching other teams scoop up the money and TV audience.

It's a real pickle for the remaining teams in the B12 if this happens

A few if them aren't going to have a whole lot of options .

I think Kansas and WVU are probably going to be ok as they've got strong baskeybsll tradition so they'll get scooped up ny someone ( B10 or ACC ).

If B10 doesn't get both then it'd make sense for that league to add 1 more of the schools

Like if WVU goes ACC and KU goes B10 then B10 would probably add maybe Baylor or Tech so they can expand into Texad TV market..

OK St, K State, TCU, ISU .... man I just don't see where they fit in .

P12 isn't inclined to take OKST without OU is my guess

K State may need KU to tell the B10 they aren't coming without KSU

Iowa St is the most screwed. Iowa is by far the dominant team in Iowa for fandom so adding the Cyclones adds zero for any league. At least TCU has the Texas market for eyes abd recruiting

The BIG and the PAC and ACC ought to be making some serious phone calls today.

Just waiting around is stupid.
To who tho? what does any of the remaining Big 12 schools do for the Pac?
