It's all about TV. Texas and OU are pissed at the TV deal, and watching other teams scoop up the money and TV audience.

UT and OU have sweetheart TV deals in the B12. Their TV income is on par with the B1G an SEC. Obviously, if they were to bolt to the SEC, the package for that conference would increase pretty dramatically and their payouts would increase. But, this is more about the big revenue makers in that conference looking out for themselves.

Money for sure is the driving force, but it goes beyond the TV deal for conferences. Look at expanded playoff implications and the seemingly inevitable march towards super conferences. It's a consolidation of power and money in the hands of the biggest schools and not terribly different from the European Super League idea that was attempted this year by the biggest clubs in european football.

To who tho? what does any of the remaining Big 12 schools do for the Pac?
P12 is a basketball conference . Adding KU, Baylor, TTU etc wouldn't be bad but yeah I don't see any of those schools wanting to go to the P12 unless it's as a last resort.

Notre Dame will be the only one left anyone wants.

I suspect you'd have to look at non-football sports to get the value of other teams in teh B12. I think Baylor tends to be overall pretty good in "sports". And I'd wager Oklahoma State is top 50.

That other site that shall remain nameless has this exact thread going on for the last day.

It's a real pickle for the remaining teams in the B12 if this happens

A few if them aren't going to have a whole lot of options .

I think Kansas and WVU are probably going to be ok as they've got strong baskeybsll tradition so they'll get scooped up ny someone ( B10 or ACC ).

If B10 doesn't get both then it'd make sense for that league to add 1 more of the schools

Like if WVU goes ACC and KU goes B10 then B10 would probably add maybe Baylor or Tech so they can expand into Texad TV market..

OK St, K State, TCU, ISU .... man I just don't see where they fit in .

P12 isn't inclined to take OKST without OU is my guess

K State may need KU to tell the B10 they aren't coming without KSU

Iowa St is the most screwed. Iowa is by far the dominant team in Iowa for fandom so adding the Cyclones adds zero for any league. At least TCU has the Texas market for eyes abd recruiting

TCU and Baylor are kinda screwed. Small private schools don't really offer much in the age of the super conference.

Tech and Okie St may want to kick the tires on the PAC. Seems to be their best option if they can get in there. WVU and the ACC make sense geographically, but culturally and academically they don't. KU is somewhat desirable merely for hoops.

I agree that KState and ISU are boned unless they receive a ton of help and can piggyback on someone else.

Aside from UT and OU, the only school that really has a decent national appeal is KU hoops. I could see the PAC or B1G being somewhat interested in the Jayhawks.

All the other schools basically survive thanks to UT and OU.

about 10 pages ago this was what i said would be a maybe at best

Pac could go LA, Arizonas, TT, TCU, Baylor, OK State?
move Utah and Colorado with Bay OR and WA

tho after thinking about it more Pac has always had some issue with religious schools so maybe Kansas and K state instead of TCU and Baylor.

Yeah, but does that do anything for them really?
Money wise, I can't see it.

lol hat in hand huh? LOL LHN was paying more than the cut the SEC was giving you.. But don't worry you can thank us and ou for the extra 20 mil that schools will get

damn right..we are the deathstar.. say goodbye to Bama..
Texas, bending the knee. LOL.

y'all can ban me from here the day you see me cheering for any "SEC" school or piggyback 'SEC" draftpicks, not having to do only with Texas

How much y'all wanna bet that you will never hear SEC chants in Austin or Norman?
This is the exact undeserved arrogance that makes us laugh at you. Poor thing ... having to come to the SEC to bail you out of the conference that was going nowhere.

Baylor has a shot to get a B10 invite imo but only if they move quick. Coming off natty in bball it's the time to try and pair with KU and protect themselves. If they wait and then the B10 decides KU and WVU make more sense geographically Baylor is probably hosed

It gives the Pac 12 11AM and 230PM kickoffs. Oklahoma State vs Oregon or USC isn't nearly the draw that Oklahoma would be, but it means the league is playing conference games before half the county is in bed.

Is that enough to make them go for it? I don't know but earlier kickoffs would give the conference more exposure which they desperately need right now.

When I was young, I would stay up to 2 in the morning watching PAC games. Now days, anything after a 3:30 kickoff is a late game.

No. way. in. hell.

Their mens hoops team just won a natty and their football team has been good in recent years. They're also really good in women's hoops.

But, small baptist school that barely has any in-state following, let alone national following = hard pass. Oh, and also Dave Bliss & Art Briles. Hard to imagine the B1G wanting to be associated with that shit especially given the scandals at PSU and MSU.

It does bring up an interesting rivalry if ND comes with them. Baptists vs the Catholics. Must see TV

True. It's not a great chance but Baylor definitely is more appealing than anyone in the B12 not named KU or WVU. At least right now . And the B10 isn't going to add just 1 team if they expand

If WVU goes ACC and B10 takes KU who do you think makes more sense to take for the B10 as the 16th team ?
