too many storms in the gulf.

in my 12 years in Raleigh we only experienced one hurricane that had any significance. Funny that it happened to be the weekend my parents were visiting.

That makes sense, we're going to explore few areas and I sense we'll either retire near mountains or near coast.

I can handle a place that has winter, but I don't want sub zero weather like MN

When it gets to 2(+) hours, it's not really convenient. It's still a trip....might require less driving, but it's still a multi day trip. If I move somewhere else, it's because I'm moving to a place that has something desirable to me. Not something that is less inconvenient to get to something desirable.

Question for you. If I'm being dropped off and picked up for a Buckeyes football game, is there a spot that you would suggest that might be more convenient for the driver?

well after we make our money working in better part of country we bless the south with our presence in retirement

And I've ruled out the majority of the South, I think NC is the only real contender.
