also 65/4 isnt actually divisible evenly. so would actually need to add 3 teams and have 4 regions of 17 teams or add 7 teams and have an even 18 teams per region.

if its 3 i would vote BYU, Cinci, Memphis
if its 7 also add Boise, Houston, UCF, and ? Temple? Navy? not sure
Here is my best shot

West

N: Washington, WSU, Oregon, ORST, Cal, Stanford, Boise, BYU, Utah

S: USC, UCLA, Arizona, AZ ST, Colorado, TT, Texas, Oklahoma, TCU

South

W: Texas A&M ,Baylor, Oklahoma State, Houston, LSU, Ole Miss, Miss St, Arkansas, Memphis

E: Alabama, Auburn, Florida, UGA, Florida State, South Carolina, Tennessee, Vandy, Kentucky

East

S: Miami, UCF, Clemson, Georgia Tech, Duke, North Carolina, NC State, Wake Forest, Virginia Tech

N: Virginia, Maryland, Rutgers, Louisville, West Virginia, Penn State, Temple, Boston College, Syracuse

North

E: Pitt, Cincinnati, Ohio State, Michigan, Michigan State, Indiana, Purdue, Notre Dame, Illinois

W: Nebraska, Kansas, Kansas State, Iowa, Iowa State, Minnesota, Missouri, Northwestern, Wisconsin

...but the $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ and no term limits are contributing a little.

$$$$$ corrupts pretty much everything. How you know it isn't just the politicians is go to any other major community group/club. They are just as dysfunctional at times. Visit your local HIP group as well, always laughable.

That's about as "regional" as could be designed. But, those "groups" don't look to be balanced strength wise. But, that could be JMO.

specifically which? I tried my best. thats why i switched Penn State and Pitt.
a few more moves could be argued and made to balance im sure

I don't think anyone could do any better than you did if we are keeping it "regional". It just looks like The South - East would be a lot more difficult to win than The South - West or The North - West or either one in The East - . But, that is as of the last 20 years. It could flip flop in the future.

i tried to keep things similar to what they are in most cases and tried to put 3 historically strong or currently strong teams in each.
West N with Oregon, Washington and Stanford who have basically won all the Pac 12 but 1 anyway. add Utah BYU and Boise
West S with USC Oklahoma and Texas speaks for itself

South W was like A&M hoping they can maintain what they have going, LSU the obvious and then schools like Baylor and Ole Miss who i see as up and downers who you just dont know if they will win 11 or 2.
South E is obviously the current power with Bama, UGA and Florida and historically FSU but like you said future could flip things.

to me neither of the East divisions have much going for them anyway.
S is Clemson and maybe VT and Miami can come back to their old ways.
N Penn State and teams like Louisville and WVU who have had good runs in recent past.

North W is pretty much the Big 10 west anyway. Wisconsin Iowa and Nebraska were put together as that divisions mains and there they are still.
North E is pretty much Ohio State Michigan and Notre Dame.

is a Lousiville and Notre Dame switch better balance?

So is Oklahoma and Texas still going to have those dumb ass pay per view games?

Those dumbass PPV games, at least in OU's case, were games that the networks didn't want to air.

So OU found a way to make $$$ off of them.
