I went biking over there on Saturday. I was riding through Queens Plaza and realized I had never ridden across the Queensboro Bridge before. So I did, rode about 10 blocks north on 1st ave, then back down 2nd, across the bridge again. Wasn't too bad
they still got a lot of roads closed to traffic? are you in long island city?

Yes, still lots of "Open Streets" all over the boroughs...I'm technically in Astoria, but googlie calls it LIC. After I got off the bridge saturday, I rode down to the real LIC, to Gantry State Park. Lots of new pedestrian paths down there, but the bike path stops abruptly at this new hi-rise on the waterfront. It looks like eventually you will be able to ride all the way into Brooklyn on the shore line

Today SUCKED

Spent most of it on the line with IT trying to get my MS Office license updated

Plus side: got another 5 lb bag of chicory on the way from New Orleans

When I lived there I remember walking across the Brooklyn Bridge and wondering how bikers aren't constantly ramming into pedestrians

i almost beat the shit out of a biker on that bridge....they got this bike lane marked out but i was trying to get around this large school trip. go to pass leaving plenty of room for riders and this tool gets all lippy with me because im a few inches over the line. share the road asshole....works both ways!! wasnt even a real biker decked out in spandex just some moe from brooklyn so i gave him the local cheer.
