The Tar Heels are being treated by the media as a Top 10 level team going into the 2021 season. Tonight, we may learn how wise it is to trust the media as UNC travels to Blacksburg to hear a Metallica song and also play Virginia Tech.

Carolina has Mack Brown as their head coach as reboots are popular these days and are coming off an 8-4 2020 campaign which saw Coach Brown lose to Florida State as usual and also to Texas A&M in their Bowl game. They also beat VT at home in a high scoring affair.

As for the Hokies, they're coming off a 2020 season that saw them not go to a Bowl game which is rare for them. But they do have Justin Fuente in their corner so that counts for something at least and they look to upend the Heels tonight on ESPN. Coverage begins at 6pm Eastern.

UNC hasn't won 2 straight vs VT since 1945.

UNC hasn't won in Blacksburg since 2015

VT's won 4 of the last 5 & 8 of the last 11.

VT leads the series 23-11-4 all-time & 6-2 in Blacksburg (according to sports-reference).

Did Andre Ware just say "Enter Sand Band?"

Don't think Fuente in our corner is necessarily a positive.

I want a Hokie win, but I have a feeling this is not gonna go their way.

UNC getting gashed early.

eeeeeee

In order to bounce back from failure, you must first fail.

There goes the shutout for UNC.

Everyone in this thread could have scored on that one.

Wow an opening TD drive

i wonder what it feels like to be a Texas fan watching Brown at NC.

North Carolina's last shutout win was against Idaho in 2012, 66-0 so it's been a while.

What kind of win loss record gets Fuente $hitcanned this season?

UNC's lack of shutting out opponents streak is up to 109 games now.

that first line isn't all that impressive considering that VT/UNC didn't start playing annually until 2004

Pretty decent tackling of the helmet there.
