How in the fuck is hitting a ball carrier in the back to prevent a touchdown with your shoulder targeting?

People like you are the fucking problem
It's not the targeting I disagreed with. I said it's a crappy situation, but probably technically correct. I just wanted to know how a guy hitting someone falling to the ground at the 2 yard line LITERALLY stopped a TD

Stop being a pussy
God damn it man.... My WTF was you a WVU fan rooting for PSU. Isn't that supposed to be the opposite (unless they play Pitt)?

When the defender makes the move he doesn’t know the guy is falling to the ground. Players used to be taught to never give up on a play. Appears that a penalty now if you don’t.

And it’s not targeting one but, unnecessary roughness if the refs really want to call something. Again it was shoulder in back.

I think most targeting calls should be unnecessary roughness instead

His only other choice was let him score
:wtf: He hit him while he was inches off the ground, already being tackled. He wasn't going to score had he not been hit there. The ball was at the 2y line.

It was a lame call for sure, but he wasn't going to score without that hit.

My bad dude, While I’m from Mass and went to wvu I grew up nearly my whole life in central Pa. my mother is a PSU alum. I grew up loving them.

In the moment the defender doesn’t know that when he leaves for it.

At this rate, they should just convert the game to two-hand touch :pound:
The players need to make a stand. take away the ejection or we don't play another down.

They work too hard for too long to be ejected for such a flawed yet well meaning rule.

No doubt, as I said I hate the targeting rule in general. Hate that it can't be reviewed after the game to prevent that kid from missing the first half of the next game even. It's all way overboard.

But it didn't prevent a TD

No doubt, but it’s impossible in the moment to know he is going down.

Night games in Happy Valley are a bitch

Dude, you guys own them on that. Aren’t all 6 of their white out loses from you? Or did Michigan sneak one in in 06?

Idk, but they've beat us a couple times, and we've always had the "better" team.

Edit: I'm pretty sure michigan has beat them once in a white out. Alabama was probably one, too
