True Story: My first Rice game I attended in person was a 0-77 spanking @ LSU in 1977. Fast forward to the Summer of 1985, and I was at an event in Orlando and had a chance to meet and talk to former LSU HC Cholly Mac (one of my all-time favorite coaches) at the cocktail reception. He was drinking bourbon on the rocks, and I was drinking a gin and tonic. I mentoned that game (which was also my first LSU game), and he chuckled. He told me the Rice Coach was a friend of his, and he said to him at midfield after the game that he was sorry for the lopsided score. He said the Rice coach told him no need to apologize, as there was nothing you could do about it!

Game was a waste. Offense looked similar to ULL game, just vs a shittier team. Passing game sucks. Defense is suspect. Outside of the playoff bound!!!
