Mark Davis loves Gruden.

He gave the man a ten year deal and more control of the franchise than any HC besides tHoody.

But Gruden called Sheriff Rog’ a fag, so…

I think the relevant questions are whether the NFL told Davis about the emails before they were leaked and who leaked them. If the NFL told Davis and then leaked them when he didn’t act, they’d have a lot of explaining to do.

dumb article, got to the antonio brown mention. this was put out to take the focus away from Dan Snyder, which is where this started from and has been ignored. no hypocrisy, just keeping you away from the man behind the curtain.
I don’t understand this take on this. Why would the NFL try to protect Snyder? If they had the ability to pressure him into selling the team, don’t you think they’d jump at the chance?

I’m assuming we became aware of the emails after Davis did nothing.

Washington already did their woke part by ditching the Redskins name.

Gruden gets to be the sacrificial lamb this round.

I’m really hoping to see the NFLPA get their way, most likely through the courts, with having all the investigated emails released to them.

I'm sure Davis and quite a few other owners are not happy with Goodell.

This is exactly where I’ve been on this today. I can’t figure logical reasoning why the league would cover for Snyder.

OK, he’s an owner. He’s also probably the least respected and liked owner in the league. And….if they had to pressure Davis on Gruden just to cover for Snyder…..

Best I’ve been able to cobble is the various avenues that have pushed this forward are some of the same avenues that were just recently wondering what Gruden did that was so bad. Fwiw….

Snyder has been an embarrassment for years. I’d think they’d do backflips if they had something on him that they could leverage him out with.

I’m sure a majority of owners are not happy with Goddell. Frankly, a majority of owners could remove him….and I cannot fucking believe they have not.

But he gave up the fight on the Redskins name.

That was Yuge woke bonus points for the league. And more so for him to the league office.

Woody Johnson owns a steaming pile of shit in the leagues biggest market. Imo he’d be the first guy Roger would want to remove.

Consider the family. Al Davis, who may have literally been Satan, famously fired coaches and wouldn't pay them their guaranteed salaries. The League let him get away with it, because of his history as a founder of the AFL and the probable kickbacks he was receiving from the rest of the teams after the merger. Mark Davis pissed all over the 'Rooney Rule' to hire Gruden, so it wouldn't surprise anyone if he wanted to hold onto his coach even after the firestorm of 10-year-old tweets no one even knew they should be outraged about.
