Two weeks ago I shot a 91 while only hitting one fairway. Punch out game was #elite and I was flagging everything with my irons. 25 putts that round. Had been solid with my irons and short game most of the summer.

Made some small tweaks with my driver yesterday and only missed one fairway. Best driving round of the year. Shot a 106.

I hate this game. :L

Nonexistent
Picked up a new driver, 3 wood and wedges but haven't been able to fit any rounds in this year.
Plan on getting at least a few rounds in up in Idaho and down here in SLC before it starts snowing.

Newbie checking back in, just finished with Hogan’s 5 lessons book, pretty informative...we’ll see if it helps me tomorrow when I take my son out for 9. Wish me luck!!!

Hit flush all day yesterday but my short game was total fucking shit.

Made my second birdie of the day on 18 to shoot 88.

I've only played 4 or 5 9 hole round this year (up from one or two rounds a year), ranging from 46 to 53. I'm going to invest in some new clubs this fall/next spring, and try to play more. I think I should be able to get to about a 45 average with more playing. Maybe cut a few stores with clubs that are better than a $300 15 year old set.

Kind of weird this year with covid and a new kid. For quite a while I had played more in Nebraska (75 in two days at Prairie Club) than at home. Game has been surprisingly decent despite that shooting 80-85 basically every time which isn't much of a drop off from normal.

My aging back and knees have forced me to tone down my swing. The inevitable decline in my scores have taken away some of the fun.

Didn't play from March until August and have only gotten in one full round and a couple 9 holes, with only one round before Covid. The recent rounds were 9 holes because it was 90+ degrees and walking a hilly course with high humidity took a lot out of me, especially getting back into it again. Didn't play last week since I was aerating and reseeding my lawn, but hope to play 9/18 one afternoon this week depending on weather.

The last 9 hole outing I was crushing it off the tee and hitting some decent approaches, but there were several that got away from me into the rough/trees. Ended up with a birdie, a few pars, but a double and triple as well. This next outing will likely be the complete opposite with horrible drives, but decent scrambling for a similar score. One of these days I'm going to put it all together, or at least that's one of the reasons to keep heading back there.

Anyone here play Wolf? Do you go with wolf tees off first or last? What kind of scoring do you use? So many variations, so I’m curious what the consensus is.

We want to play a game next weekend and don't know what to do.

I'm a 16 or so but wildly inconsistent. May shoot 85 then 100 the next round.

One guy is like a legit 4.

One guy probably 20.

One dude plays like 5 times a year.

Any suggestions?

Never heard about that, but just looked it up and seems interesting.

Most of the time I'm a single walking my course and the only people I see are the grounds crew, since it's mostly a weekday morning.

When I have played with a group of four, we'll pair up and switch every 6 holes, essentially playing skins either with best ball or captains choice. Also have broken out the "poker chip" game occasionally, depending on which group of guys I'm with.

The three of you could play captains choice against the legit 4, which would allow the worse players to still hit every shot, with the chance of carrying the hole once in a while. Bet accordingly and you can always switch it up at the turn of its not working out to be fun.

Went from embarrassing to passable when I bought one of those illegal-to-use-in-tournaments drivers last year. It's sinful - far and straight off the tee every time, almost.

That's disgusting. Can you give me any contact info?

I just bought it on Ebay! It looks like every other, but I think the face is curved in such a friendly way, they banned it from $ tourneys.

Can't remember which it was. Got the #1 and #3 for under 100 bucks.

Just saw this also. I remember the original was chapstick, LOL

JP LANN GOLF Slic Stick Anti-Slice/Anti-Hook Compound for Clubs

I've been on the range mostly all summer, so my scores have been great

Just upgraded to Callaway Maverick irons and 3 wood.
Ping G410 plus Driver.

Loving them so far.

Got my handicap all the way down to a +1 until my shoulder decided to finally quit on me. Torn labrum and SLAP tear. Got stem cell injections last week and praying that helps. Otherwise it’s surgery and still 12 months from playing again. FML
