Took it easy on my run today (still nursing my hamstring) and I still ran an 8:04 pace. Guess the next goal should be either 7 minute pace or consistent 5+ mile runs

How far did you go at the 8min pace?

I reached my goal a few weeks ago of 3 miles in 24 minutes, which is 8min/mile.

When I go for speed, I can do one mile in just under 7 minutes.

they've been saying that since the 70's

It'll be there, but it's smart to not rely on it

The way things are going I truly believe it won't be and you are correct I am not planning on it to get through retirement until I die

Just over 3 miles.

Already broke the 8 minute 5k mark. But I tweaked my hamstring last week. Taking it easy

i'm so out of shape now it's absurd, and i marvel at what we used to do in my army days. 7 minute miles for at least 4-5 miles was a pretty standard run for my unit...well, for most of the folks in the company. if i ran a mile right now, today, i might die trying to hit 10 minutes lol. my fastest ever 2-mile on a PT test was 11:49

Next week would be Ohio's 1st round. Unlike Ohio, Indiana doesn't seed their tournament. So the top 2 teams (one my alma mater) in the sectional are playing opening round. So some awful teams get to keep playing farther than good teams.
Did Indiana let a bunch of God awful teams in, too?

Ever since my plantar fasciitis flared up, I can barely crack 9 minutes. Part of that is I am running a lot less than I used to and doing more low impact cardio. Sucks getting old.
