Lincoln Riley to USC

He's gonna need to nail the DC hire though.
All depends on who follows him. They have some good offensive coaches. Bedenbaugh is legit at OL. WR coach will garner a lot of interest. Of course, will Ginich follow him?

maybe this opens up the LSU gig for Aranda?

thought he would have gone to USC

I can’t imagine the likely coach of the year in the NFL leaving for OU, especially with a team that looks capable of making multi-year run. Not to mention he wasn’t a fan of recruiting per reports

Riley had everything he needed at OU. I hope he doesn't regret his decision in 3 years.

I believe I may have asked you this before, but are you sure you're a Ducks fan?

You seem far too level headed and reasonable to be a Ducks fan.

There's no point of trying to deny the obvious. This was a great hire for USC and they'll immediately be a top tier team on the recruiting trail.

Does that make things tougher for Oregon? In the short term, yes. But the PAC 12 has fallen badly behind the Big Ten and SEC and needs more legit teams to improve their media deal. This should be huge for the upcoming media deal. Also, there's plenty enough talent on the West Coast for multiple nationally relevant programs. It's just a matter of keeping them in the PAC and not letting them go to Ohio State, Michigan, Alabama, Georgia, etc.

If Washington can get back on their feat, the future of PAC 12 football will look bright for the first time in a while.

I've got fam members with me that aren't old enough to remember USC dominance. I've been playing the old man role and warning them that there is a sleeping giant on the west coast and this just might awaken it. It's an amazing hire by them. The PAC desperately needs it too because to be truly relevant they need USC to be good. This could revive west coast CFB. And if it does...from one Blue Blood to another and for CFB as a whole...good.

I don't expect Okie to miss a beat either. The consistency of that program is amazing. I hope we can go through coaching transitions after Saban like schools like Oklahoma and Ohio State have.

I'm bullshitting this because Schefter is a loser and doesn't know shit. It's for hits. He's piggy backing off the trending Riley. There is zero chance we even entertained this.

Anyone make sure that USC is hiring LINCOLN Riley?

maybe it’s really Mike Riley. You know… that ex Oregon State coach who knows the PAC.

Would look good in Cardinal and Gold

Well the guys a dumbass so what do you expect ? :noidea:

All good. On euro hoop I had made a long post about how quiet USC's coaching search had gotten and a couple of predictions that writers had made.

As soon as I hit send, I got an alert on my phone about this and had to go back and delete it. lol

I'm not sure what I was actually expecting from the USC HC search, but THIS certainly came "out from nowhere"...

His name was never mentioned that I ever heard.

I'm actually pleasantly surprised and encouraged by how quietly USC handled this. It's almost like it was a professionally run coaching search.

Apparently, hiring an experienced AD is a good thing. Who knew?

Lincoln Riley inherited a great job in a weaker conference. He’s certainly a big name for USC but to think this suddenly make USC a power within the conference is a bit early. At least for a year or two, before he fizzles out or not, he will get more eyes on the conference.

Maybe he will be like McVay in the NFL, where he’s considered the golden child so regardless if he wins or not he’s seen as some amazing coach

USC is a transfer portal destination and Riley can't develop worth a shit, relies on transfers coming in. He will do well in USC.

. He going with?
