Lincoln Riley to USC

I mean, so you believe that the PAC is as strong of a conference as the SEC? I don’t know if I believe that they have two programs that can run with Alabama and Georgia.
1. we still dont know how the SEC is going to structure. east west still or pods. if you have west with OK, TX, TXA&M, Ole Miss, Miss state, Missouri, LSU i would argue OK is still the favorite most years for the division.
2. its not that i think the Pac is harder because of strength its more because of balance. Pac cannibalizes itself more than other conferences.
3 part of the SEC strength mythos is 13 of 14 teams to bowls florida 6-6 2-6 in conference congrats on beating Samford, USF, FAU and squeaking by FSU. South Carolina 6-6 3-5 in conference by beating 2 teams lower in the division and 1 of the bottom 2 of the other along with ECU, Troy and eastern Illinois

with UGA THIS season no probably not. from what I have seen of Alabama THIS season i think Utah, Oregon, and UCLA could run with them. might not beat them but could run with them.

However, to get through the PAC and into the Championship, you pretty much have to be perfect. You can still get there in the SEC or B1G with a loss.
Both Pac Teams that made the playoffs had a loss and Oregon was in this year with the worst loss of any contender, but the blowout loss to Utah killed their shot

Has there been a one loss PAC champion left out of the playoffs?

I liked this part from the article.

" I’m not even certain that every corner of Oklahoma’s unhinged fan base is disappointed about any of this."
I'm not sure that many are said to see Riley go either. In fact, I think some are elated because they feel like OU had reached the ceiling with him. At least the few that l know.

What seems to be sticking in their craw (and in the ND faithful's craw) is that Riley and Kelly had the audacity to leave a CFB brand name/royalty program without being fired, retiring or having to leave because of a scandal. Choosing to leave big brand CFB programs like that is very, very rare. In fact, didn't I see the last time such happened was something like 1946 when the OU coach left for Maryland?

USC has WTF losses under every coach including Pete
USC (or any other CFB team) ain't got a monopoly on that. 2017 Syracuse over Clemson  , 2018 Purdue over Ohio State .

I'm sure there are more than those but that is what comes to my mind right now.

You ever seen a weasel dicked snake pussy?

in the landthieves defense.. he left for another school that is in the pinnacle tier of CFB History. Not like this guy bolted for Washington or Florida
True. But leaving ANY of the "pinnacle tier CFB" schools voluntarily is a snub no matter how someone tries to spin it. It is very, very rare.

That said, I'm not so sure Riley didn't receive some "quasi ultimateums" during the year sometime. We may never know but it sure looked like something was going on. That or they just really weren't that good this year.

Bypassing the SEC? Yes, the PAC isn’t even close To SEC difficulty. U$C, otoh can damn well be a powerhouse with the right coach.
Really because there have been how many undefeated teams from the SEC make it vs undefeated teams from the Pac? it is difficult to do no matter what conference for different reasons in each.

One loss would qualify as "pretty much perfect"...no losses would be perfect.

What are the chances that a 2 loss, non-Conference Champion team gets into the cfp from the PAC?

What if it's a 1 loss PAC Champ vs. a 1 loss SEC or even B1G team?

In the next few weeks, OU will be slapped with some sanctions or Riley with some accusations. No way he left arbitrarily.

As for cheesenuts leaving nd for LSU… my take is that nd refuses to join a conference, and as I’ve stated before, new super conferences are what’s in store in the wake of NIL

most years on average sure.
this season meh.
Bama would be a 2 score favorite over any PAC team and would be a 3-4 td favorite over the majority of the conference. PAC fans can't be this delusional. I'm a B1G fan and even I can see that.

Bama would be heavy favorites over any Pac team any location
bama who edged out wins over 6-6 Florida, 6-6 LSU with 6 rushing yards, a solid Arkansas team and multiple overtimes with 6-6 Auburn and a loss to a decent A&M?
favored? yes. heavy? not so sure.
