I skateboarded as a kid, but never got on those death traps again after I fell square on my ass (coccyx) my first time at a skate arena.

One of my friends in college was a good skateboarder. The rest of us weren't. Can't tell you how many times someone would try to get on his board in the common room of our suite and immediately fall off it.

That area is the seventh circle of traffic hell. We went through there at like 6AM on the way home from our vacation in October and it wasn't an awful drive, but holy hell, any time when people are usually awake it's the goddamn pits.

Waze literally routed me down along the mall on a convoluted route to the 395. But even last week the trees through Virgina, Washington, Delmarva were gorgeous so I can't even imagine what October must have been like.

Some girls from town formed a club team 10 years ago or so. They have "matches" with other clubs across the area. They do a rugby model thing. Beat the hell out of each other for 90 minutes and then get drunk together.

We drove down at night, and came through at around sunup. Guess I started noticing the trees once I got to Delaware.

We went right up 395 at daybreak, though, so it was cool seeing the monuments and the capitol building as the sun came up.

I never got the hang of roller skating. Got to the point that I wouldn't hurt myself on ice skates and roller blades, but roller skates were like a death trap for me.

I grew up at a place called Skate World. All my first girlfriends were from there. I was on the Speed Team. Thought I was so cool. Dumped a girl on the rink during backward skate once when her rental skate broke and she fell. Instead of helping her I was embarrassed for myself, broke up with her and skated away. Obviously I feel bad and embarrassed about it now but back then I was like 15. Sorry Brianne!

if they offered the Maverick Hybrid in AWD, I'd be interestd

While you can survive without AWD in MN, I did for years, i don't think maverick, even being small truck, would deal without AWD in MN winters

I do like Volvo S60 recharge, but I worry about cost of repairs, since, it's got two engines...

Last night was first practice as wrestling coach for Buck's school club. We had 2 sessions. The first session was chaos like normal with K-2nd grade. The second session was fine with 3rd-6th. I could definitely do without the 1st session group.
