Rumor: Miami to Hire Mario Cristobal

Makes sense. He’s royalty there. Manny Diaz was in over his head.

My blasphemy your thread title is horrendous compared to what reality is.

Temple got paid like 5 million when Miami hired Diaz and he never even coached a game at Temple. Temple also got paid that year when GT hired Geoff Collins. Temple made bank in two shit coaches and did absolutely nothing with it

OD right now

Miami has no money to hire Cristobal, this is no joke, they seriously have no money to buyout and pay Cristobal. Let alone his assistants. Dude would be working for free

Right?

No way Oregon would be a steppin' stone job to Florida schools.

Nike, en sech.
Yeah, worked out so well for Taggart. Cristobal saw that first hand. He's got it made at Oregon. Dude is hours away from winning his third straight conference championship. He owns the West. Oregon is just beginning to rise to their potential under him, he isnt going back home until he brings a national title to Eugene.

Cristobal to Miami and Riley to USC.... it is all shaping up nicely lol.

Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald reported that the Hurricanes will make a run at Cristobal in the coming days to replace embattled coach Manny Diaz, and “Some associates believe would strongly consider, others believe content at Oregon.”

I actually believe this is happening because if you have been following what is going on in Miami as it is a complete mess. They fired the AD and everyone that was interested has backed off because the situation down there is so back-ass-wards. Basically, with no AD you have a Board of Trustees and about 20 influential boosters that are jocking to call the shots, and everyone going through the interview process has withdrawn. So I 100% believe these idiots are going to make a play for Cristobal without firing Diaz first and obviously doing it in the public eye.

No way Cristobal is dumb enough to go there but maybe he can get one of these 15mm a year contracts but I've no idea how Miami will afford to pay him, Diaz and have enough to run a decent program.

Damn it!

I was halfway through my post and got a phone call. This is BS!!!!!

That's his 2021 threshold though. Of course they're not gonna announce anything until the days following tonight's game.

Is there someone who can step in as interim for the bowl game?

Manny was officially their coach all of what, 15 days?

It ain't happening. The other thread goes into much better detail about how messed up Miami is right now. They'll be lucky to get a Florida HS coach to take over that thing

No AD is a problem for them. The well heeled boosters are almost assuredly ex-players.

Miami has NO MONEY Stop giving in to their desperate move to get attention and stay relevant
