Stoops already beat Oregon in a bowl game. OU 6-1 all time vs Oregon and that 1 was a farce.

Mike Bellotti called Bob Stoops that night and apologized for how the game was botched by the bad calls. The onside kick recovery was one bad call and a blown PI call was another one. Bellotti even volunteered on the phone call that one of his players admitted the PI call went the wrong way when he came off the field and Bellotti asked him if the refs had got it wrong. Bellotti making that phone was pure class. And the officials were suspended the rest of the season. Shit happens.

It's too late tonight to look up all that stuff from years ago. They were suspended. The replay official was actually "reprimanded". To that guy's credit, he said he was sick in his stomach on the drive back to Portland that they had messed things up so badly. That story was in The Oregonian.
