Tis Tik Tok Friday

You might be surprised. They can pound out some miles easy. Tourist flies into Tampa and drives all the way down west coast, over to Disney, etc. Maybe Miami or Key West.

With that many miles though there have been many users of that car that got massive bills.

It wasn’t the rule that bugged me. It was that it was not super clear anywhere when booking. Then you get there to pick up and they asked right away if I planned to leave the state.

I usually just try to uber when I'm on vacation, I know that isn't always possible/feasible depending on what you want to do while on a trip though

No. It is more of a risk/reward situation.
I can agree with that.

if you make it clear "hey, you're gonna do stupid shit, but as long as you don't hurt yourself or someone else in doing it, you should be fine"

so just bypassing "don't do stupid shit" because it is just inevitable that they will do stupid shit?

I am not sure why you are telling us about the Santa thing...do you consider telling your kids about Santa and them growing out of it you getting caught?

Well, I was caught lying to them.

They were in the back seat of my pickup years ago. They were probably 6 and 7 Y/O.

I heard a voice say "Dad is Santa real?"
I said "What do you think?"
They both said "No"
I asked "Why do your think that?"
My daughter said "Because he uses the same wrapping paper as you, and has the same handwriting as you."

Regardless, I'll raise my kids with trust. Trust is the most important thing in a relationship between children and their parent. If they get into a fix, I want them to be able to trust they can come to me. My kids don't have to lie to me about anything.

Now kindly GFY!!

I just don't get how this ties to what we are talking about...

my wife is a stickler about wrapping paper. I guess she was right.

my 8 year old asked - and we didn't lie. now he helps hide the elf on the shelf for his 7 year old brother.

I cant wait for you to have kids
well I am learning from these questions now so I am prepared

why not tell them "follow the rules" instead of "don't get caught"?

Are you a parent? I assume no. It all ties together.
why does that matter?

are my questions too difficult? they seem pretty normal to me

2 hour waits on the 1st floor to get a car after a 3 hour flight FTW!!!!
Oh, I don’t have to deal with that. It’s just all the rentals on the road with people not driving in familiar territory.

They used to be easy to identify by license plate, but that stopped after that German couple accidentally ended up in Liberty City about 30 years ago and didn’t come out alive.

Of course, odds are that not THIS many families opted to buy a Dodge Caravan these days.

I have a membership with National and use them whenever I travel. A little more expensive, but they give me upgrades and their cars are quality.

it comes down to you get what you pay for, IMO
