Vikings fan hits referee in head with a whiskey bottle

Would’ve been redundant. Dak Prescott IS a dildo already.

Crap offense, terrible play calling and a boneheaded way of ending your comeback chance… but it’s the refs’ fault your team played so badly and committed so many penalties?

Fans go to games and consume large amounts of alcoholic beverages and people get surprised when they start acting like lunatics.

Based on the performance of the refs ever since the replacement refs fiasco I'm fine with people throwing stuff at them.

They're terrible and it doesn't ever seem like there are consequences for poor performance. They don't get fired, like ever.

They should officiate every game with the threat that they'll get their knee caps beat in if they fuck up bad. These guys make 200k a year working for maybe 6 hours a week and have less accountability than the bus boy at your local diner. If they don't get fired for bad performance they should at least get physically injured for it.

Goodell is responsible for hiring these refs.

This happened in 2017 as well. On that one, the "owner" wrote "BRADY" on it before tossing it on the field.

To be fair, the Boger crew that screwed up the inadvertent whistle call in the Raiders/Bengals game was informed they would not be working any more playoff games this year.

I hate Boger. He's awful.

Yes, he is. But that wasn't even a top 10 worst call of the year. In fact, I don't think it was all THAT bad all things considered. These guys blow their whistles prematurely or too late all the time. I don't know the specifics but that could have been an accident. It wasn't a completely blown call due to incompetence like several of the much worse mistakes.

As far as accountability goes, they won't get fired. They just don't get extra bonus money for working 6 hours next week.

The rule is clear as can be. If there is an inadvertent whistle, they are supposed to replay the down from the same spot.

The Bengals scored a TD. Would they have scored anyway? Maybe, but it's pretty clear the DB covering the receiver stopped when he heard the whistle.

Yeah I'm not saying they didn't clearly fuck up. They did.

I'm just saying I've seen worse all year and we haven't seen crews get removed from games the next week without pay.

Terrible take. It's never ok to throw things at the refs. First, they were pelting not only the refs but the Cowboy players. Second, someone could be seriously injured. It's stupid. Boo all you want, but throwing things like this is battery and if the injury is serious enough could be a felony.

People have no idea how to behave in civilized society any more.

I believe some fans consume too much alcohol at games which cause them to do things they wouldn't do when sober.
