I'll have to see what we need for our traditional one. It's nothing special, but it's something that my maternal grandparents have served and my parents. We have done it the last 2 or 3 years.

I have a Texas-based recipe that I make with chunks of meat instead of ground, and I add beans.

Just woke up. Couldn't sleep during the afternoon before my first night on nightshift last night, so was dragging once 0600 hit. Went Roy Rogers after, got a breakfast sandwich and took a unisom, slept like a rock.

Now gotta walk the dog, do a talkie bike ride, etc before going back in at 1800 for another night.

But first, coffee

The version I made yesterday does not have beans, but I do have a version that I make that has them. The one I made yesterday has chunks of beef and pork.

It's not like if we're having steaks and baked potato I want chili to put it on. If we're having chili, I usually like to make a baked potato to eat with it. I feel like it keeps me from eating two pounds of chili. It's pretty good, too. I rub the potato with olive oil, sprinkle it with coarse salt and then bake it so the skin is crispy.

I almost never put that stuff you listed on a baked potato. Really, the only times I have a baked potato are chili and with steaks. If it's steaks, maybe a little butter, but mostly just steak juice.

My from scratch version has the same chunks. Sometimes I'll throw other animals in too.
