Went to some Mizzou alumni thing at some bar I'd never been to last night (alone, unfortunately because the friend I was going to go with just found out he had Covid). Had a drunk manager (possibly owner) sit at the table with that I was watching the Penguins game at who started out being all nice and friendly blah blah blah but then got real pissed off (or fake and it was all an act, idk) because she said she was taking in two Ukrainian refugees and I asked for how long instead of doing nothing but heap praise on her for doing it. Then got more mad because she asked me and some regular there for $20 to help them and I was hesitant thinking the whole thing is one big hustle (and didn't have cash and also fuck you if you're actually doing this that's your job to be financially viable to handle it).

Could not get out of there fast enough. Was hoping (and honestly kind of expecting) to get banned for not paying for that and making it an easy decision to never have to go back there.

Should add it got so bad that the nuclear option of not so subtly playing with my pocket knife in the hopes it would've scared her into just straight kicking me out didn't sound like a bad idea.

LOL. What a scam.

What time did you leave the bar?

I always make sure I'm out of any bar before midnight.

Oh yeah, also got food poisoning from their Mexican-catered event.

Gotta be alert when a woman you don't know just walks up to you randomly in a bar. They generally do not do that.

Its a cop, a hooker, or a hustler.

One time I had two women approach me in a bar and asked if they could buy me a drink.

Turns out they were brand reps. Had a real Moe Sislak moment:

I actually do think she worked there, either that or good on her for getting the entire staff to go along with it.

I still can't get over how angry she was because I wasn't telling her how great of a thing she was doing by allegedly bringing in refugees to stay with her. That just screams "I want so bad to be able to tell others how much better I am than them even if I can't afford it on my own and am just using people going through all kinds of trauma to make it happen."

(Assuming this was real, and if it was all an act I at least give her credit for selling it well).

Live and learn. +1 you didn't give her any money.

It’s probably just a scam to try get you to give her money. Shit, women at least used to pretend like they’d sleep with you first.

Only reason I wasn't sure was a guy who I assume is a regular (who was also asked for money) was hovering around well after she left and kept going on about how he couldn't believe he saw that and how she was 100 percent serious (and it had crossed my mind he'd have been in on it but I feel like if he were he'd have subtly tried to get me to give and not basically keep going 'this bitch is acting crazy').
