2025 Concerts

Does sound fun buuuut....
I done the sro for Kenny Chesney before,it was one of the worst places to be imo.....
Im a drinker, and we were probably 20 ft from the stage, you look behind you,it was a sea of people to walk thru to get to a restroom....not too mention even worse to get back to where the wife was....never again.
Encountering agered people was not fun......

That was at Lambeau Field a few years back......
It's weird how country concert crowds are always so much more unruly than hard rock/metal crowds. Rock/metal music is a lot more aggressive and energized, but the people are so much cooler.

I have not done sro for a rock concert,so not sure how that would go,being your pretty much in the pit, which I would like to do.....
But Ive never had any problems with any hard rock concert Ive been to......

I go to concerts with my wife. We like to be at the stage, but I usually try to find a spot off center of stage to avoid mosh pits and crowd surfers. ...I go into "wife protection mode" if we're in that shit and my enjoyment of the concert decreases considerably if I'm constantly watching behind me for 250 lb dudes trying to crowdsurf over my wife or bang bodies with her.

My wife would neeeever come close to the pit.....I barely got her to go see Korn a couple years ago.......lol
Especially when Code Red opened up Korn that day.....mosh pit was wild.lol

Cuz they're more likely to be smoking weed instead of drinking. I've encountered a lot of mean drunks in my day but never a mean stoner.

And another angle: people are exhausting their angst through the music at heavy music shows. Country music is more of an angst blockage than exhaust.

I fucking hate huge outdoor festivals. Might be the worst way to see a show. Only thing worse is a fucking sports stadium.

Mac DeMarco playing in Philly in September. Going to try to go that. Bloc Party playing in June. Not a huge fan of them but I've got an itch to go to a show so will likely go to that.

This is next year. Hoping they extend this tour + support into the US. I would be cool with overspending to see a Avatar + Pantera + Metallica show.

Melvins and Napalm Death would be sick, but I prolly won't get to see them this time 'round. :pout:

Was at the best place to see a concert ever last night for Jack White.

The Commodore Ballroom. Fantastic small venue. It has great acoustics and this spongy floor that moves up and down as a crowd bounces. When I saw the Ramones, there back in the 70s, I was out on the floor doing the passive pogo because there were so many people bouncing up and down. I couldn’t not bounce up and down.

On the subject of the actual concert last night, it was awesome. Jack came out and played for two hours and the only time it was dead air on the stage was when they took like a five minute break before the encore. Other than that it was one song ended the next one started before the first one quit ringing in your ears.

Here it is. This is where I saw all the punk/new wave bands in the late 70s and early 80s. The clash Devo, Talking Heads, Blondie, boomtown rats, Ramones, etc. Saw George Thorogood there too.

Capacity 990 bodies. And they serve booze.

It better be an old ass theater if it's any bigger. Most the shows I see are in dive bars. If they're "legends", some old "theater" is perfect.

I'll hit an outdoor, amphitheater-type show once every few years, just cuz it's a "legend" bucket list shit, but intimate settings ftw with concerts.

We’ve got a couple facilities in Vancouver, the Orpheum and Ford theater. One used to be a big movie theatre and the other was sort of for more uppity shows. And I’ve seen bands in both of those places and it was just fine. But the Commodore, is the cats twat. It’s fucking awesome. In every respect and the sound is great and it’s just a place you never see anymore.
It’s a real cool feeling to be doing the passive pogo out on that floor with all the people around you are bouncing up and down and you can’t help but bounce up and down.
