We had weight limits in pop warner for this very reason. It was by weight not age.

NFL wants to solve its violent collision dilemma, they should have weight limits too.

Yeah, Pop Warner football up here has weight limits for each age group as well. At 6 years old I don't think the local league would let this kid play up two divisions to get him in with boys his size so he would be SOL.

Hell. At 6 they might have moved it to flag only at that age. At least where I grew up.

Not in Miami though. They threw them in pads as soon as they can walk.

My boys are in their early 30's so I'm out of the loop on what the local Pop Warner leagues are up to.
