Several years ago, I was listening to a Marc Maron podcast walking home from work at the bar at 5am. Before guest, Sean Penn, let Maron end the podcast, he insisted on saying one more thing. Penn said that he had just come back from the set of a movie Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga were making, and that it was going to mesmerize everyone.
The first 28 minutes of A Star Is Born is some of the most pulchritudinous art you’ll ever see on motion picture. And then it just gets better.
