I am 50 as of beginning of September. I am 5 feet, 8 inches and about 220. I can still sit in the floor Indian style and get up with no trouble. For some reasons, this amazes people. However, I feel like I have no energy at all now. Wake up each morning here recently with a shooting pain on the right side of my right foot. Walking is a major deal. It usually works itself out by 1:00. Rinse, repeat. Getting old sucks.

Be 53 next month.

Always tired.....just had my Colonscopy this past June.

Not really a question of virility (some of us are just more virile than others though ). Just try to get on a regimen of moderate exercise, and you'll find the energy comes back. If certain muscle groups or joints aren't as usable, work something else.

I weighed almost 260 when I was 42. Man, I can't imagine how I would feel now with those almost 40 pounds still on me.

Turned 53 in Sept. Back about 6 years ago or so, I got out in the spring for the first lawn mowing of the year and couldn't do the whole thing without resting.

So I joined a gym and worked my way up to to great health on one of those high calorie buster treadmills. I went every weekday and it took about 2 months to get to a point I could do an hour straight without stopping. Now I power walked 5 miles per day in the 100 degree summers in Jackson. I used to do 8 miles but that took too long so I upped my speed.

BP is 120/70 last time I checked and I pass all the physical tests they give me easily. I feel like haven't been this healthy since my teens.

TL;DR - Join a gym ya lazy bum!

It’s not necessarily the years alone that do you in…you have to factor in the mileage as well.

Eesh.

I’m 49 and I don’t feel or look any different than when I was in my early 30’s. 6 foot 210 all muscle. Strong as fuck. 32 inch waist.

I absolutely kick my own ass in the gym 4 times a week with extreme disciple. Heavy, intense weightlifting. I’ve done this my whole life.

Clean diet but not perfect. Lots of water. I don’t drink anything else but coffee. No sugary drinks, no energy drinks etc…get a minimum of 7-8 hours of sleep a night.

If you hit the gym real hard and don’t eat like a pig and drink like a fish and stay thin and strong then age is just a number.

Wake up each morning here recently with a shooting pain on the right side of my right foot.

Go get a sports massage. I’ve had muscle knots in my back and shoulders so bad I thought I had nerve damage in my neck. Turned out it was just muscle knots.

I turn 49 next month. The psoriatic arthritis has kicked my ass and makes me feel old sometimes. Start taking some multivitamins buddy

I think my body jumped the Shark at 53.

Now if I want to feel better I will have to put a lot of effort into it.
Just dont know if I care enough now LOL

At 50 my mind was still like if I was 35. but I noticed I am slowly transitioning into the get off my lawn guy :heh:
