Anyone Had Sinus Surgery?

Middle of November, sinus infection, head to doctor. Strong antibiotic, feel better near the end of the meds. Then, it comes back along with a nagging, every now and then dry cough. Go back, chest x-ray and CT sinus scan is ordered. Chest x-ray comes back fine. CT sinus scan shows more infection and crap still up there. Another round of a different stronger antibiotic. Consult for surgery is set up for middle of March. A coworker has had it done, and her surgery was pretty major. Looks like they might have to go up and scrape and clear this junk out and other things. Anyone ever had any type of sinus surgery done? How bad was it? Anything I need to know? Days of work missed?

I see these advertised, but I never thought about severe problems like yours.

Sister in law had it, awful, did help at all. I’ve got nose issues and sinus issues and thought about it but after her experience I’ve never pulled the trigger.

Of course she never got her nose smashed multiple times wrestling and boxing and broken her nose at least 3 times. I probably need to suck it up and see an ENT.

Wife says I have a deviated septum and could probably have surgery. I have frequent sinus issues especially when the weather changes dramatically. I also use a C-pap machine. Doubt I will go for the surgery though brother
