B1G just missed chance for first National Title in a major sport played by the SEC in years

You do realize the University of Tennessee didn't win the national title in Men's Tennis. You had one of your doubles teams won an individual title, which could have been anywhere from #1 doubles to #3 doubles -- Tennessee didn't win the team title, Florida did.

Using your criteria -- Mason Paris just won an individual national title at Heavyweight for Michigan in Wrestling. As a matter of fact, the last time any school outside the B1G even won a team national title in Wrestling was in 2006. Now THAT is called dominance :)

I 100% agree that the B1G is a Men's Wrestling Conference.

In women's hockey, Wisconsin has won 7 nattys and Minnesota has won 6...

Since 2001

Oh, Ohio State won one also.

Are there any major conferences that even play Hockey besides the B1G? I know some of the teams in New England area are stout like UMass but I think the B1G is the only really conference that plays it.

The other conferences are afraid. Wisconsin doesn't field a men's baseball team. Should I throw out all baseball nattys from the discussion?

I think you have an argument. The ACC, Big12, Pac12, and SEC all compete in Baseball though.

Without question it is the best sport for the conference, as wrestling in the Midwest is huge. Just like it shouldn't be shocking that hockey is a huge sport with many B1G schools. Michigan in 2022 had 7 players drafted in the 1st round of the NHL draft, including the #1, #2, #4 and #5 pick overall.

It isn't rocket science. The sports you can play outside year round are dominated by warm weather climates. The sports you play indoor is dominated by teams who deal with fall and winter, where you have to play the sport indoor.

B1G loses the hockey title to a mid major MAAC school. Lmao.
