Short film from 2011 by the writer-director of Heredity and Midsummar, Ari Aster.


This guy in my opinion is the best young director out there. Both of his first two movies are great and unlike anything else out there.


I just saw this short film of his from 2011 and it is extremely good for just 6 minutes and 22 seconds.








News is that for his 3rd movie it is going to be a 4 hour "nightmare comedy" starring Joaquin Phoenix and to be built around the idea of this short film apparently.

And if you haven't seen this guys other two movies Heredity and Midsummar then you need to fix that. I'm pretty sure they are on Amazon Prime if you have a subscription to that.

Exactly.

I highly recommend his movie Midsommar. I think it is one of the best movies from the last decade and one of the more disturbing movies you will watch.

I recommend Hereditary to people. As for Midsommar... I tell people it is probably the strangest movie I have seen - I repeatedly said "what the fuck" out loud throughout watching it lol.

Mike Flanagan isn't necessarily young, but has a couple of good horror films under his belt and is responsible for the haunted house movies on Netflix (Hill House and Bly Manor).

Gareth Evans isn't necessarily young, but this dude was responsible for the Raid movies.
