Big 12 thread

I've been saying I didn't think any Big 12 team was so much better than the others as to separate themselves during the season. However, I just looked at Utah's schedule. I'm calling it right now. Utah will be in the Big 12 championship game and only have 1 loss...if any. Their schedule looks very, very friendly.

Southern Utah
Baylor
@Utah State
@Oklahoma State
Arizona
BYE
@Arizona State
TCU
@Houston
BYE
BYU
@Colorado
Iowa State
@UCF

They avoid both K-State and Kansas. They get Arizona and Iowa State at home. Those four and Oklahoma State are considered the front runners this year along with themselves. So Okie Lite is the only road game against pre season title contender. They also host the Holy War. Only tricky thing might be how they handle the cross country trip to Orlando when they've been used to cool weather by then. (They do go to Houston in late October also...but it is Houston.)

Yeah, I am not convinced Utah runs the conference by any means, but that schedule is about as soft as it gets and I'd be surprised if they weren't in the CCG barring injuries at QB. Best team on there by a good margin is Arizona and I don't think Oklahoma State is getting the bounces they got last year. Ollie Gordon can only do so much.

Iowa State is at home. Their road games are otherwise against the dregs of the conference outside of perhaps UCF if they get things going.

Here’s a bet for any of you hardcore gamblers. The idea is to cash in on the fact that no one in the big 12 has a chance at a natty and the odds reflect it. Utah is 60-1, Kstate is 75-1 and Okie light is a whopping 250-1. I think one of them is very likejy to win the conference and get a bye to the quarterfinals. Huge easy hedging opportunity into profit there as I see it. Do the math.

Really not a horrible idea. The issue probably is cash out is minimal or a loss if there is any until they win a playoff game. And even then, depending on matchups the books aren't going to be giving away anything.

It's still great value as one of those 3 are likely winning this league. But it'll depend on more than one thing for cash out profit.

Yeah I’m thinking bet $50 on each of the 3. Bet them all and root for Okie St. Worst case as long as one of them win you have a live $3,050 ticket in the quarters. That’s easily hedgeable, as long as one of them wins the conference there is no reason to take even a minimal loss.
