Bama and USC aren't undefeated anymore...both lost this weekend.

Suck it.

This times 1000x. This is pretty much par for the course with Alabama getting ready to win a National Title.

However, I am not sure they have the magic this year. Then again, they got Bryce Young. Don't underestimate that guy. He took hit after hit from Tennessee and was scrambling all over the field and still making great plays. That guy plays with unbelievable heart. Hard to not be a fan of him.

I love Bryce. I was apprehensive when he took the helm of that offense, but he is a true player and rarely gets rattled. Georgia rattled him, but its rare when he gets off balance. I was very pleased with the way he played this weekend. If our RB\WR\Utility back had caught that low pass, I think Bama wins the game. Sadly we know the outcome, but life goes on and we still live to fight another day. Bama isnt done yet, much to the shock and dismay of some.

True but Alabama is going to have win differently than they did in the past. You will need to embrace your offense more because your defense is a little suspect. Bryce Young maybe your Cam Newton-like player and he will definitely still keep you guys in the running for the title.

I think the game is changing right now with the vertical passing attack being ahead of defenses. Not a lot of defenses seem capable of slowing it down right now. That may eventually change.

We will see if the Heupel offense can keep it up. Tennessee plays two great defenses in the upcoming weeks: Kentucky and Georgia.

The game no one is talking about regarding Tennessee is Pittsburgh. We scored only 3 points in second half. A lot of that was our mistakes but perhaps Pittsburgh figured out something others have not yet. (Or we just grew as a team which I think that is happening as well).

Yeah that was a dogfight man! I expect both teams are sore after that game!

Bama got a tough row to hoe: Ole Miss, Cowbell State, LSU and the Barn. 3 of those teams are at least as talented as Tennessee, and Auburn is the luckiest team in the world when it comes to the Iron Bowl. Would not be surprised if they dropped at least two of those.

I have spoken on this a few times. I dont think that our DC has what it takes to be the Bama DC, and I wish Saban would hire a reputable DB coach and allow himself to step back just a bit also. I think some of our issues may be in that Saban tries to do too much at his age and he needs to realize that as he gets older he will need to rely on his staff more and more. I dont want to come to terms with it, but I think Saban is losing a step and needs to realize his limitations now. We all get old, but for his age he works my ass under the table.

My Christmas wish list is a new OC and DC and maybe a newly hired DB coach.

While Ole Miss looks great on paper and has a good offense, their defense is sort of pedestrian. It will be a tough game because its at their house and its Kiffin vs Saban, but I think Bama can take that game.
Miss State has a porous defense that gives up big numbers in passing and rushing and its at our house.
LSU is dangerous because that defense is good and we are playing in Death valley. I look for that to be a good game.
Auburn is Jeckyl and Hyde this year, mostly Hyde, as in their offense and defense both hide. They are mistake prone, and are exceptionally bad on offense and defense. The QB is a turnover machine this year, and yet they managed to stay in the game against Ole Miss.

Overall I say if we find a game to drop(which I dont see happening) it will be LSU in death Valley. LSU fans hate Bama, Saban, and with Kelley, he is going to want to put on a show in his first game against a suspect Bama team. In previous years Bama has gotten stronger as the season developed, but I am not sure this years team will gel like in the past. This one resembles 2010 Bama in a lot of ways.

Obviously, the problem is Saban because he won't make the changes needed to his coaching staff and the portal and NIL have evened the playing field.

The game is leaving him behind and you need to cut bait now.

Nope. Saban will leave when he decides to retire. I am sure he will have suggestions for best candidate in his parting gift to the University as well. That game that is leaving him behind is still within his grasp, I just think personally he needs to maybe slow down a bit on some things he does, like DB coaching.

Just got back on, catching up as this thread exploded with good discussion :).

One thing that Saban did not talk about and I disagree with him on is the impact of Neyland on that night. Alabama won't face an atmosphere like that again for the rest of the season. LSU has the potential for the atmosphere but the fanbase is not behind the team, doesn't have the 15-year drought, and the team just doesn't have the energy and inspiration Tennessee had that night.

As a Tennessee fan, I definitely have two teams I don't think the Vols match up with well at all and don't want to play. The first is Alabama for a second time which could be likely if we beat Georgia and the second is Ohio State (although I haven't seen them in a big-time matchup yet). I do think Ohio State has the offensive talent to stay with Tennessee in a dog fight as well.

Georgia is going to be a major hurdle but I think their defense could be vulnerable to the Heupel Offense. We may eventually be due for a down game were Hooker is off as well. That is the downside to explosive offenses, they can have off nights. It is like the 3-point focused teams in Basketball.

Kentucky is our next big hurdle and the Kentucky defense is legit. UK's defense shut down Miss State offense Saturday (7 of the points for Miss State was on a pick 6 for TD). I think UK-Tennessee is a big-time matchup for us as well.

Man, I'm looking forward to this game. A very rare contest where both teams are ranked. UK has their starting QB back (missed the Carolina game).

Should be a good one

Golding is definitely in over his head. It says a lot that no teams have tried to hire him away.

BOB has zero imagination and I wonder how many plays in a game are changed by Bryce at the LOS.

I agree with you, this may be the last time Saban needs to make an adjustment, but from the outside looking in those are the 2 biggest changes that need to be made in the offseason
