Can the Braves trade for Freddie Freeman at the deadline?

Just heard that Close is considering suing Gottlieb over this. So far, reporters/pundits are backing Close. Gottlieb isnt even really considered credible when reporting on basketball even though he played in the NBA.

This whole thing is so weird. Freeman was obviously emotional in Atlanta, but his play since joining the Dodgers sure hasnt looked like he is unhappy. Heck, he has the longest active hitting streak in baseball right now.

Either hes not as unhappy as folks are saying...or he is amazingly professional. Likely a little of both.

Lawsuit will never happen. Just a "public image" threat. Close did it. He's just trying to save face.

I really wish Braves fans would just let it go. I appreciate everything he did as a Brave, but he’s a Dodger now and I don’t wish Dodger players well. No different than Tom Glavine going to the Mets. You move on and focus on winning another World Series

Yeah, to be fair, I know nothing about Close. From what was said this morning, he has been around a long time and is respected.

I couldn't be happier that Freeman is a Dodger and I hope he's happy being here, but if Close really withheld the Braves last offer...that's some bullshit.

Gottlieb stuff all makes sense because when Freddie was asked about it he said “no comment”. If it wasn’t true he just would have said it was false

Freddie’s agent tried to play hard ball. It didn’t work. Freddie got paid by a contending team, the Braves got another very good first baseman and are still contending. Nobody really lost anything and I don’t feel sorry for anyone.

You mean be like Bobby Cox?
You need to get current.

Marcell Ozuna

Not sure I believe that happened though, when he played for the Cardinals he appeared too fucking lazy to lay a beat down on anyone.
