“OOC games will not be a part of the CFP formula starting in 2026. Teams will be selected by in-conference record only” is clearly a false statement as non AQ bids will be judged by their whole schedule
Stay mad buddy boy
They might have 6 teams worthy, but I don't think they will put in 6 teams from one conference. The SEC is the best conference. Was listening to the Cover 3 Podcast and Bud Elliott thought so. I don't think it's too crazy. No other conference has as many marquee OOC matchups they do. It's honestly not even close.
They do have to win them though.
If Texas beats OSU, LSU beats Clemson, and OU beats Michigan, I'd say it's more probable than not at that point. They also have games against ND (x2), Clemson again, Miami, Arizona State, Baylor, Kansas, GT, and UL.
Texas vs. OSU is the big one. On the flip side if they lose a bunch of these OOC games they could be looking at just 3 again. Either way, I think we'll know where things stand after week 2. But I think they're the conference with the biggest variation of outcomes.

You’re the only one bringing up homosexual acts in this thread. I detect some projection. You can get off my cock, you slobbering faggot. I don't swing that way.
If 16 is the number, then 3/4 of the CFP teams will not have their OOC results taken into consideration.

One would think so. But many fans still pay good money for seats and show up for very many of those cupcake games every year. I keep thinking fans will revolt about those type games but I’m totally wrong. The fans also want great games, not cupcakes.

doesnt it still push teams up and down though? Not this year, but I can see it if they expand to 16 on the 4-4-2-2-1 format.
Top 4 regular season standings get auto-bids.
1 auto-bid goes to the highest ranked G5.
That leaves 2 or 3 at-large teams depending on Notre Dame, who got into the 12 team format even though they lost to G5 Northern Illinois.
Under the 16 team format, I can see 2 at-larges going to the SEC based on in conference strength of schedule perception alone.
Keep in mind ESPN has the SEC pimping podium.

like if we went off last years final rankings for 16 teams with auto bids
Oregon, Penn State, Ohio State, Indiana
UGA, Texas, Tenn, Alabama
Clemson, SMU
Arizona State 17 BYU jumps in
Boise
ND
2 at large Miami and Ole Miss
thats still only 5 SEC
Those games aren't going anywhere. The games it is going to save are the Texas v. UM, UGA v. Clemson, UGA v. FSU, Alabama v. FSU, etc. Those are the OOC games on top of the Rivalry Week games that need to be preserved. The thing to me is it should preserve the Ga/Ga Tech, Florida/Florida St, Clemson/S Carolina, USC/Notre Dame games and to a lesser extent Oregon/Oregon St, Washington/Washington St.
That's what last year would have looked at. I don't see many years when the SEC/B1G get 6. Occasionally 5.doesnt it still push teams up and down though?

Definitely wouldn't say it's impossible but I would have a hard time seeing them get 5/8 of the remaining bids after the conference champs. Can't see any scenario where the B1G doesn't get at least 2 and the G5 getting another. So B12 and ACC would only get there conference champ in. Just don't see it happening
