I’d put LSU over OSU. OSU obviously been more consistent, but natties should carry the most weight and LSU has one in that frame

To me though, the 15-0 arguably best team ever natty makes up for that enough to bump them to 4th
I hate sticking up for OSU but OSU has as many losses in the last 5 years as LSU had in 2021 alone. If LSU wasn't average outside of that 1 year, sure. But they were straight up bad for 2/5 of those years.

Would you rather be an LSU fan or an OSU fan in that timeframe?

I’d rather have the natty and a couple bad seasons than no natty and being really good every year

You sound like a guy that stays inside because of thunderstorms. Lightening strikes like LSU's natty takes on way too much importance.

The goal is to win a natty. Winning a natty carries more weight than consistency IMO, but after 5 years, that natty no longer matters

LSU had a 5 and 6 win season in the last 5 years.

That 5 win season was in 2020, so it's a little skewed because of it. Extrapolate that out over the course of a normal season, they likely are an 8 win team(4-0 OOC, 4-4 in the SEC). Maybe 9 with a bowl win. Obviously, it's like that for everyone, but playing an all SEC schedule is a tall order. No excuse for the bad 2021 season.

Needless to say, they have a very weird resume the last 5 seasons.

Ain't buying what you're selling. Consistency is what makes a great program

Last 3 coaches at LSU have won a natty. That's pretty consistent. Does BK get there. Hopefully not. Lmao.

But that 5 win season was 5-5. So the best they could have done in a "normal" season would be 7-5, correct? + a bowl game, to MAYBE get an 8th win.

I have no argument if you extend the time frame. But if we do, Alabama is #1 over the last 15 years.

Don't be absurd. 1 year doesn't make a program. Looking at just the last 5-6 years I am surprised Wisconsin is in the Top 25.
Georgia was easily a top 10 program of this century prior to 2021, all any UGA fan ever heard was “1980” and “preseason champ”. Being a consistently good program meant shit. It’s all about the natties.

Don’t hear much about “Clemsoning” or “preseason champs” anymore do you

No, in a normal season, LSU plays 8 SEC games. Assuming the same winning percentage in conference play of .500 that would equate to them going 4-4 in conference. Their OOC opponents for 2020 were scheduled to be Rice, Nicholls, UTSA and Texas. So at worst 3-1, but the Texas game would have been a home game. If we're taking odds into LSU is probably favored over Texas. Making 8-4 realistic. Then a bowl game for a chance at 9 wins.

I think he was trying to make a joke that my Dores are consistently bad.

Unfortunately, I think he will. Damn, it's easy to recruits studs from Louisiana ... they just don't leave the state. If he can get consistent QB play, they will be really good for a long while.
