I think the portal has helped but the gap is just too big. The portal is great at plugging holes but you are usually only getting 1-2 kids per class so even if you are recruiting well, the elite schools will have too much depth.
 
Was watching at my parents house. Once we got a comfortable lead we really about as vanilla as you can on offense.

But looks like Bama will have their hands full with either Clemson or OSU

I doubt Cincinnati would have done THAT much worse than Notre Dame.
