That's a great draw for Iowa. I hope you're right lol

Iowa/BYU would be fun as hell if it happens, but yes, that's a good draw for Iowa with Nova injuries, plus, they are the worst 3 seed as well.

I didnt even know fucking Byu was supposed to make the tournament.

That teams sucks

They are pretty safely in. They aren't great, but they are top 30 in everything, and they are 7-5 in Q1/Q2.

This year is going to be a fair amount of guesswork for certain teams relative to normal years. For instance Lunardi has Loyola as an 8 while Palm has them as a 12. I'm going to say the committee gives them 'closer' to what they deserve and they end up on the 6 line. TBH I think they deserve to be on the 4/5 line.

I also think the SEC teams will be a little higher. They did well OOC, so Missouri will be a higher seed I think. Tennessee may be as high as a 5.

By the same token, I think they'll have the BE teams a little lower, Creighton may be as low as a 7.

By the numbers, UConn is a reasonable 8/9 but if Gonzaga drew them, they'd have plenty reason to be pissed.

So you believe Wichita will be in, even if they don’t win the conference tournament?

Yes, I think they will. I'm really only basing it on historical precedent though. They are the outright winner of a top 7 league. A team with that distinction has never missed the tournament before. The problem with that though is that this isn't a normal season and they were helped immensely by an unbalanced schedule, due to cancelations. They are very similar to what Temple was in 2016. Bad metrics, relatively speaking(temple was 69 in RPI and KenPom was in the 80's on Selection Sunday) and still made it. They are difficult though because they only played 17 games against D1 competition.

Solid reasoning. I won’t argue with that. I just wonder if the AAC is a top 7 league this year

Yeah, there is a lot of uncertainty this year. I always try and base my projections on precedent, but this year's is unprecedent. Lol. I think Loyola will be in the 8/9. If I were doing it I'd probably have them a 6/7 though.

Great call on uconn. They are going to be under seeded based on how good they are with a healthy Bouknight. With him they are probably a top 20 team. I wouldn't want to be the #1/#2 seed that's in their draw.

According to the NET they are 7th. That's certainly debatable, I agree. But that's where the conference is as of now.

It seems Georgetown may have been erroneously overlooked in here.

The Hoyas are Big East champs after they demolished Creighton earlier today.

This update was from March 7th, which was before the Big East tournament started.
