Chip Kelly might be the smartest man out there.

Aside: Funny how our "progressive" left coasters are going all in on banning gas-powered personal vehicles for the common Joe, but don't give the slightest fuck about increasing the aircraft fuel consumption caused by all these conference realignments.

They are hypocritical going all the way back to the king of hypocrites Al Gore.

That said, I’m not sure how many charter flights there will be for minor sports. And I doubt airlines are going to increase/decrease flights because 10 Rutgers golfers are playing at Torrey Pines.

Not gonna lie, I like it.

Makes sense, financially. Plus, gives the G5'ers something to live for.

Money. It's all about money. The "green" push is all about money, not what's actually best for the environment. This conference realignment is all about money, not what's actually best for collegiate athletics. And when the pile of money on the right is bigger than the pile of money on the left, the pile on the right wins out regardless of what shallow cause is tied to either pile and regardless of the negative ramifications of diving into the pile of money on the right.

Yeah, I'm on board. Especially with making another division and having another championship. Might be a good way to preserve the bowls as well.

Not as funny as your simple brain dead take on it.

Pushing production away from gas is not banning ownership of gas vehicles. Going that direction probably has a ton of flaws, but it’s an attempt to address the problem on a large scale, which is the point, and what’s needed. Supporting a conference change that’ll increase travel for a few athletic departments isn’t the concern that needs addressing.

I’m sure there are plenty of arguments against you can make, but at least make some kind of attempt to understand what you are against to be able to make those arguments, point out real hypocrisies, and avoid future embarrassment.

I don’t see it happening because the B1G and SEC don’t really have to share the spotlight with 64 total teams. All they have to do is sit back, watch conferences like the PAC and ACC implode, cherry pick the high value assets and each controls around 20 of the most valuable assets and control the market.

What Chip is proposing but it will happen in a different format and that will be the SEC and B1G form a division and leave everyone else behind.
