to be fair, NDSU isn't just any FCS team. and NDSU has knocked off respectable FBS teams (2013 KSU, 2016 Iowa). they beat an 8-6 CMU team 44-14 in 2007

at the very least, I feel like it'd be preparing for a tougher Sun Belt/MAC team

Absolutely. It looks like South Dakota St. may be the new top dogs in the FCS but NDSU is still an incredibly solid program. I hope they get to the FBS some time over the next few years.
