Well no big surprise, as the defense sucked from the beginning, and didn't get much better.

Mike Nolan has been let go as Dallas Cowboys defensive coordinator, he confirmed to ESPN's Ed Werder on Friday.

Defensive line coach Jim Tomsula was also fired Friday, a source told ESPN.

Last season, the Cowboys (6-10) allowed the most points in franchise history (473) and finished 31st in the league in run defense.
 
McCarthy got the message from Jerry Jones to fire his two friends. Now maybe we can get a competent DC.
 
Hopefully, Dak will return to top form and we have better luck at OL with avoiding injuries. The offense looks good.
 
About time.
 
I wonder if McCarthy or Jones will hire the new DC.

Word is they are looking at more McCarthy Stooges as the replacement :facepalm:

Can they please go hire some fresh new blood? Instead of all of McCarthy's friends.
Someone please point out to McCarthy. Defense matters!

100% it will be one of those three. Unless Zimmer is shown the door (unlikely) then it would be Zimmer for sure.

Zimmer is staying in Minnesota.

Also some panthers coach that has ties to McCarthy.

No rumors of someone fresh. Only ties to McCarthy so far.

I guess Jerry has given him more power than previous head coaches. McCarthy only hired friends when he coached the Packers and the only reason he was successful is that he had Aaron Rodgers carry that team. Their defense was always below average.

agreed
bringing in more coaches from those sub par defensives makes no sense.
Also if he cant look elsewhere other than his past boys. It will just show how crappy of a head coach he is.
Praying for a non familiar coach to McCarthy to land the job. A 4-3 coach as well

Jones hired McCarthy and gave him authority over the coaching staff.
