Cy Young Award

Good for him. Was truly a stud this year.
We had three stud starting pitchers in the rotation for the first time in my life. Sucks the bats went cold when it mattered most.

Well deserved. It's a good thing that Freddie Freeman drug his huge nutsack across Hader's face in game 4, because I didn't want to go back to Milwaukee to face Corbin Burns in a game 5.

Much like Bryce Harper, Wheeler came up small with his team's season on the line and Scherzer was a little bitch in the playoffs. Burns was the only choice.

I would have went with Wheeler. I'd agree Burnes was more dominant, but I don't think his advantages in rate stats should offset Wheeler's advantage in IP (213.1 to 167). I think that inning advantage is even more importantin today's game where pitchers don't really go 6+ anymore and 200 inning pitchers have become an endangered species.

What do the playoffs have to do with the CYA? This is literally a pitcher for the best pitcher in the AL/NL, not "most valuable". That should have zero bearing, and any playoff performance doesn't factor into these ballots anyway since they're submitted before the playoffs start.

Award went to the right person.

The Brewers had one of the worst hitting teams in baseball last season. Their pitching carried them all year.

I like looking at the difference in those situations. In this case it's 46.1 innings of 4.08 ERA (put in very simple terms of course) so there's some obvious extra value there.

You contribute nothing here. The playoffs have nothing to do with the regular season. By the way Burnes beat your team.
Hence the "1." Now about that other 3..........
