Dan Quinn joins Cowboys as Defensive Coordinator

Hopefully, Quinn can inject some life into that pathetic Dallas defense.
 
Jerry Jones really doesn't do much in terms of candidate searching and screening. JJ seems to just go for the marquee name.
For HC, he looked at just 2 candidates, Mike McCarthy and Marvin Lewis. This looks similar. JJ probably wanted Dan Quinn from the beginning and did not look at anyone else.
 
Quinn looks like a Jones hire. If McCarthy had his say about it he'd want Dom Capers.

31st in run defense (2,541 yds)
28th in most points given up
11th in pass defense (3,642 yds)
28th in 3rd down conversion allowed
10th (tied) in 4th down conversion allowed
23rd (tied) in fumbles recovered (2)
23rd (tied) in interceptions (10)

Definitely terrible, but sure they can fall further.

When our offense has a good QB and healthy line we will score points. Then the other team will need to be throwing the ball in the 2nd quarter and beyond. Also may try to go for 4th downs.

QB isn't the only problem with Dallas. If Prescott was healthy the whole year, the team wins maybe 2 more games and gets the honor of losing in the first round to Tampa instead of Washington.

Though mismanaging the QB position is definitely something JJ knows how to do. Since he bought the team, he's had one great QB, and one good-ish QB. Maybe Romo could've been more with some better receiving options, I dunno.

Is this where I point out GB has had one of the best QB's of all time and won a total of one Lombardi with him?

They are also in the playoffs almost every year.
