Derrick Henry out for season?

"every down backs" are becoming a rarity in today's NFL.

This is the reason why. Of the 260 carries this year for Tennessee, Henry has 219 and Tannehill has 23.

I don't care how big or punishing you are....if you're toting the rock that often in the NFL you're gonna get hurt eventually.

but lets take a team like Dallas. If you are okay ramming a new one every 3 years after you use and abuse them it could work...

i.e Marion Barber, Zeke is pretty much done...

True that but for preparedness' sake teams better have at least 2 guys that can get positive yardage when needed and not have to dip into the retiree pool.

Adrian Peterson needs 449 rushing yards to pass Barry Sanders. If he becomes the starter have to think he'll have more than enough shots to pass him.
Is he playing next year too?

He didn’t average 40yards/game last year. And he played every game.

Thought his low totals was from being a reserve. Shoulda listened to a Lions fan friend who complained a lot about him on twitter last year.

He started more than he didn’t.

His best game by far was Week 1.

I’d have similar faith in somebody signing Frank Gore right now. Essentially none.

He led the team in carries by 50.

And had the same YPC as Stafford.

Henry is still an RB and I have been told they don't matter.
When you have 350+ more yards rushing than any other running back in the league and you are 6'4" 250 lbs and outrun CB's -- you matter. The overwhelming majority of RB's in the NFL are replaceable, Henry is not.

Marion Barber took pride in doling out as much abuse as he took, so it's no wonder he hit a wall pretty quickly.

Adrian played in 180 games
Barry played in 153 games
