MONDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL Detroit Lions šŸ¦ @ Dallas Cowboys šŸ¤  on a Saturday Night edition of MNF.

Looks like 68 walked up to the ref beforehand

Also, just as an aside, why did 68 linger by the DBs on that penalized play instead of just skooching back and giving him a clear target?

Who here knows the EXACT protocol on reporting as eligible?
68 reports to ref, then what? Does the ref stand over him and report out loud and point out 68 to the defense that 68 is eligible?

The referee usually turns on his mic and says "#70 reported eligible".

#68 could have reported eligible, but he was still lined up at the LT position, which, by rule, is ineligible to catch a pass.

He was really in the running??

Lmao
Haven't heard that but what a messed up year for mvp voting. No qb deserves it but they will probably take the top five spots.

Dan Campbell just said the refs told him two players cant both report.

68 and 70 are trying to report. At the same time (whoā€™s IS legal to do at the same rime, it turned out). Ref is looking at 70. And 58 is literally also there for no reason standing in the way. All while the ref is moving toward the line of scrimmage.

Weakness all around.

Lol. Campbell still doesn't get that 68 was lined up at LT. It doesn't matter if he reported eligible or not, he'd still have to actually line up in an eligible position. There has to be two players between him and the center for him to be an eligible receiver.

Not sure why 58 was there, but why in the hell was the ref in such a hurry on a stopped clock? He literally cost the lions the game.

End of the day, the regular LT tries to report as eligible, then they line him up at LT and have him run a pass pattern. He is an ineligible receiver when he lines up at LT, it doesn't matter what he told the refs. They needed another lineman to get between 68 and the center.

He doesnā€™t have all the time in the world. He needs to get back to the line, clearly report to the defensive captain, all before the play starts.

Also, the ref is clearly looking at 70 who is gesturing to him clearly as he literally runs up.
And only after that 68 tries to gets the ref attention with a subtle brush of his own chestā€¦. While 58 fat fuck is standing in the way. Weak.

there would have been a penalty regardless, so it didnt cost the Lions, but does make the refs look like the 3 stooges.

Reporting doesn't even matter. He was covered by a WR on the line, so even if he were reported eligible he was covered and that made him ineligible.
