Checked it out last night since I got a notice they are removing it from Netflix this month.

A fun movie, but could have been better. Worth a watch, certainly.

*NOTE: Scenery in the last half of the movie - there are no damn hills and small mountains in Greenville, Mississippi. Poor production and editing.

Greenville, MS is one of the most depressing towns I've ever been in. You could tell it used to have a lot going on, but everything is gone now, and the water was brown.

I've only been to Mississippi once and everything I saw was depressing.

Great movie, should have been a half hour shorter though. The climax of the movie should have been the initial shootout at the plantation. Instead for no reason at all he added on the part where his wife is taken again and he is sold off and has to trick Tarantino who is acting to let him out and then he takes their dynamite and goes back for another big grand shootout at the plantation. It all adds nothing to the movie and just makes it unnecessarily longer.

Was that in the original cut?

I don't think there is a version of the movie out there where that isn't in it.

I just watched that movie a few months ago and don't remember that part. The ending I remember is right after the big shootout. Maybe that's just when I stopped watching ... I dunno.

You have the first big shooting when Christopher Waltz gets killed as does Leonardo DiCaprio's character and a whole bunch of people. And it would have made sense to really tie things up and create an ending here.

But it doesn't and then there is this scene with Tarantino in it. This is where Django gets the dynamite that he takes when he then returns to get his wife back, kill Samuel L Jackson, Dicarpio's sister and really everyone else there and blow up the ranch with the Dynamite as he and his wife ride off in the moonlight.

Oh, yep. I just looked too. I misunderstood and forgot about that part.

good job GIF

There’s some good areas, especially around Oxford

I flew into Jackson, which was fine, but then had to drive about 45 minutes north to some dive called Holmes.

Every minute of that drive made me want to shoot myself in the face.

I’ve been all over the state for work and various other ventures. There’s some shit holes, especially in the northwest corner, but there’s some real gems.

Nothing in that state was as bad as the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation in South Dakota between The Badlands and the place I was pheasant hunting. That was really like a slum in a third world country

lol

Yeah, I've been through Pine Ridge. The only good thing about it is they basically have no laws.
