He's doing that to cut the acidity when he could simply use a small amount of baking soda instead.

I've seen people do that. Never tried it and have no interest in doing so.

I do, however, sprinkle garlic salt on my spaghetti.

No, I salt the spaghetti. I put parmesan on the sauce.

Is this some kind of new dumbass "chili" fad?

I've seen like a table spoon of sugar to cut acidity but never a whole bag. Also seen people try to cut acidity with some carrot.

I've seen people add maybe a tablespoon or so...like I said earlier, to cut the acidity of the tomato sauce....

This MFer used a cup or two it looks like! That MFer making Spaghetti O's or some sech sheet...

Jesus.

I hate sweet spaghetti sauce -- which is why almost universally all jarred sauces are terrible because they're designed to sell at Walmart to the people of Walmart.

I usually make a huge batch of marinara sauce and then save 5-6 containers of it for use later.

Like I’m gonna waste good deer meat or ground beef making spaghetti.

sugar isn't even the worst part of this question

what type of “container”?

Just saw the video. It's an African American. What do you expect? They drink strawberry soda because it has 2x the sugar of Coke.

lol

Waaaay too much sugar. Adding a little sugar to homemade spaghetti sauce to cut the acidity of the tomatoes is pretty common. But not nearly that much.
I usually add baking soda to cut it. The dude in the video is just eating sugar water.

If I'm making my own sauce from scratch, yes.

Not much, though.
